2. Hosting and server data
The website is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). On every visit the servers process technically necessary data, such as the IP address, date and time, the requested page and information about browser and device. This serves to deliver the site and operate it securely. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and working website). How long Cloudflare stores such data depends on Cloudflare's settings and terms.
Fonts, images and scripts of the site are hosted on our own server. No fonts or content from third parties are loaded for this when you visit.
3. Cookies and browser storage
This website does not set any cookies itself. In your browser's local storage (localStorage) we keep up to three small entries: your chosen language, whether you closed the language notice, and your choice on analytics (agree or decline). They stay on your device and only serve to show the site the way you chose. The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG; further processing relies on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete the storage at any time in your browser settings.
4. Language suggestion
We read your browser language locally in your browser to suggest the matching language version. This information is not sent to us. No detection via IP address takes place.
5. Audience measurement with Google Analytics
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland; parent company Google LLC, USA). Without your consent the Google script is not loaded. It records page views, scrolling, clicks on external links, our own event “affiliate_click” (partner, link ID, page and language), information about device, browser and approximate location, and pseudonymous identifiers. We have switched off storage for advertising purposes (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization); data sharing with Google for its own purposes is switched off in our account. We use the evaluation to see which pages are read and which links are clicked. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG.
You can change your decision at any time: “Privacy settings” in the footer of every page reopens the choice. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out until then.
6. Links to partners and other sites
MeetGozo contains links to Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Trip.com and Discover Cars as well as to information sites such as Visit Gozo, Heritage Malta, Gozo Channel and others. A click takes you off our site. Only then do these providers process your data, for example with their own cookies, also to attribute a purchase to our recommendation. We have no influence on this. The privacy policies of the respective providers apply. Links to partners are marked as advertising, see the affiliate disclosure.
7. Contact by email
If you write to us at kontakt@marktkompass.info, we process your details (email address, content of the message) to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and for contract-related enquiries Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We delete the data as soon as it is no longer needed for the purpose and no retention duties apply.
8. Recipients and transfers to third countries
Recipients are Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting) and, only with your consent, Google (Analytics). Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. The providers cite safeguards under Art. 44 et seq. GDPR for this, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. We ourselves are based in the USA.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your rights, write to kontakt@marktkompass.info. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example where you live.
